Up at the O2

Hey Guys,

If fantastic views, great selfies and an activity where you can say you did exercise that day; well then Up at the O2 is the fun city hike for you.
Before I get into my experience let me tell you a few fun facts that I learnt about the O2. The O2 originally called the millennium dome has 12 steel masts, it has a walkway that is 52 metres above ground and a 365 meter diameter. Do you see the link? Well if you can't see a link, do not fear, I shall rescue you. The 12 steel masts like the one you see in the picture above represents the 12 months we have. The walkway is 52 meters representing the 52 weeks we have in a year and finally the 365 meter diameter; well that's for the 365 days we have in our year. Clever right?
From the top of the O2 you can see so much; though we went at night we could see the city lit up with lights and fireworks as it was Guy Fawkes Day. From the top you are able to see popular tourist destinations such as the Shard, Canary Wharf and the Thames Barrier. From the top you can't see most things so if you do go I advise you to keep looking around whilst walking up. Being at the top on the viewing platform wasn't as scary as it may seem. It is super secure and if you look down all you see is the O2. If you are scared of heights but really want to try this, honestly just do it, be brave and take that step onto the O2.
Walking up on the other hand is scarier than being at the top. The walk up is not physically challenging. The most difficult thing about walking up is trying to move the mechanism that holds you to the rail from one part of the rail to the next. It was so difficult to push the lil mechanism through. Other than that the walk wasn't difficult. It was strange at first as it was like walking on a bouncy castle. There is a slight incline near to the viewing platform that has a gradient of 28 degrees. However it was on the way down that gets your heart beating. The slope on the way down from the viewing platform was 30 degrees and that i admit was quite terrifying. It would of been easier if they put a slide on the way down because not only would it be faster and fun, but it would be so much easier and less terrifying.

Finally I want to say a happy birthday again to the guy in the pictures above. Happy birthday Kuya, hope you had a good one.

This is not a sponsored review.

Have a lovely day.
